Salem Elementary students celebrate World Kindness Day by choosing to support a specific charity.
Representatives from several different charities were at the school Tuesday afternoon teaching kids about their programs.
Some of those included the Humane Society,Meals on Wheels, and the Make a Wish Foundation.
Each grade will adopt a charity and then raise donations for one month.
"We were looking for something for anti bullying and so we decided that it wasn't just to tell them what they shouldn't do, but what they should do as part of a comprehensive character education program," said DeAnn Mudrick, a fourth grade teacher.
The students will hand out their donations during their holiday play in December.
