A former Republican attorney general candidate accused of shooting another person in the leg will be arraigned Nov. 29, Clay County Circuit Court authorities said.

Hiram Lewis, an attorney, was indicted Nov. 7 in Clay County on charges of malicious wounding, domestic assault and wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

He was arrested in June after admitting to shooting Stephen Bogart in the leg. Lewis asserted the shooting was in self defense.

Lewis originally was scheduled for arraignment at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 14.
