A Marion County freshman cheerleading coach who is facing three counts of sexual abuse waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing is held for the state to show probable cause that the crime was committed and the person being charged is the one who committed it.
State Police arrested Amanda Jo Barker in October on sexual abuse charges by a person in position of trust.
The Marion County Board of Education unanimously voted for immediate termination last week.
Prosecuting Attorney Patrick Wilson said the next formal step could be a grand jury.
