Judge Jamie Wilfong has scheduled a competency hearing next month for an 81 year-old Randolph County man accused of killing his wife.

The assistant attorney general asked Judge Wilfong to move Theodore Newlon out of jail and into the Sharpe Hospital.

Wilfong took the motion under advisement, pending the results of the competency hearing.
