The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a single vehicle accident that closed one lane of Interstate 79 northbound near the 130 mile marker around 3 p.m. Thursday.

One person was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by the Marion County Rescue Squad after a vehicle traveled off the roadway and into a culvert area alongside the interstate, according to deputies.

The cause of the accident and the extent of injuries that the person received are currently unknown.

Valley Volunteer Fire Department handled traffic control while the vehicle was moved.

All lanes of traffic have since reopened.
