The City of Elkins has received a grant from First Energy for city trees.
The Municipal Tree Restoration Program Grant will help prevent power outages by making sure trees don't grow into power lines.
The city has bought 23 trees and will plant them under power lines in lawns and rights-of-way.
It will leave notices at the properties where it plans to plant the trees next week.
