Blackwater Falls State Park has reopened after 18 days without power due to extensive damage from Superstorm Sandy.

Superintendent Rob Gilligan said the lodge, restaurant, and cabins are open.

More than 30 inches of snow fell at the park and most of it has melted.

The boardwalk to the falls is still closed.

"Had some pretty significant damage and some trees on the boardwalk so its going take a little while to get those cleared out, and get the boardwalk repaired it's actually closed because of safety," Gilligan said.

Gilligan said he's thankful to park employees and power company workers for all of their hard work.
