Everyone gets a lead foot every so often. But a study showing that West Virginia has more fatalities from car wrecks than other areas in the United States may have drivers on Interstate 79 hitting the brakes.

Fairmont General Hospital held its first annual Celebration of Donors Friday night.
The hospital thanked those who donated money to help purchase a new digital mammography machine. The machine is brand new technology that will allow the best digital breast mammography available.
The hospital started the campaign about a year ago and it has raised $401,000. It hopes by the end of the year it can reach its goal of $500,000.
"The timing.. .We said 'Oh Gosh we really need to replace the equipment," said Mary Jo Thomas, the secretary of the FGH Foundation Board and Chair of the event. "But in a way the timing was right because there's been some advancements made that are just wonderful. And we are just so thrilled that the community has embraced the project and has really helped out."
When the hospital gets the machine it will be one of only two other hospitals in the state of West Virginia with the equipment.
