A pair of Robert C. Byrd standout softball players signed their letters of intent on Friday to continue playing softball at the college level.
Senior Abbie Wilfong signed with Glenville State College.
Mecca Henderson, also a senior, signed with Concord University.
The Eagles reached the State Playoffs in 2012 behind the leadership of Wilfong and Henderson. The two were sad to be going separate ways, but are excited for their future at the next level.
"I picked Glenville State College because I really like the environment," Wilfong said. "I loved the coaching staff. The girls seem friendly and it seemed like a really good pick for me."
"I love Byrd," Henderson said. "It's going to make me really sad. My best friends are here and they're all going to different colleges and we're going to be playing each other. I love the team. Our season went great. We went to states and played with my best friends. It was good."
