Alderson-Broaddus loses a few players from a year ago, but none bigger than starting point guard Nate Barnes. A-B does have some key players coming back, including Kurklin Bohanon, Roy Brown and Corey Ainslie.
The Battlers finished last season fifth in the conference standings and they're looking for an even better finish this year.
Through the first week of the season, the Battlers are 1-1, but Head Coach Greg Zimmerman has been around the WVIAC for a long period of time.
He says this team should be one of his better ones during his tener.
"I think we have a little bit more of an inside presence this year than we had last year," Zimmerman said. "We still want to play the same type of offensive schemes -- we like to get up and down the floor. Hopefully we're a little bit quicker to the basket this year than we were last year. Other than that, we're not going to change a lot of stuff offensively and defensively. Just hopefully we do a little better of a job of it this year."
"We got more depth this year. So we got more talent. Last year we had talent, but this year we've got more people who can actually play. We got people coming off the bench who can play. So that should be it right there," Bohanon said.
