Gun buck season will officially start on Monday in West Virginia.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has several reminders for those who will participate this season.
The DNR reminds hunters that they may need additional tags if they will be harvesting additional bucks this season. According to the DNR, resident hunters can harvest an additional buck with the purchase of a Class RG stamp. The RG stamp must be purchased prior to Monday and costs $21. That stamp must be accompanied by a Class A and CS, A-L, AB-L, X, XS, XJ or free license.
Non-resident hunters will need to purchase a RRG stamp before the season starts. That tag costs $43. That stamp must be accompanied by the Class E or XXJ license.
Resident landowners can harvest an additional buck at no extra fee, so long as the buck is harvested on the hunter's property.
Non-resident hunters who own land in West Virginia still need those tags, even if hunting on land they own.
