How do you replace almost half of a team's scoring from one year ago? That's the challenge the Glenville State women's basketball team is presented with.
The Pioneers lost their top three scorers due to graduation, but head coach Bunky Harkleroad has driven down this road before.
The Pioneers lost point guard Danielle Woodmore, small forward Tenisha Wilson and power forward Mishae Miles. All three were instrumental in Glenville's success over the last few seasons.
But believe it or not, the Pioneers didn't lose everybody. Ginny Mills, LaToya Hambrick and Jelena Elez headline a very talented squad.
Although Coach Harkleroad lost a lot of speed and experience from last year, he said their run and gun philosophy will remain the same.
"That's what we go -- we're going to do the best job we can of playing the system and getting up and down and getting after you defensively. We're more excited about it now than we've ever been," Pioneers head coach Bunky Harkleroad said.
"We're going to play like last year," senior forward Jelena Elez said. "We're even going to try to play better than last year, of course. Our goal is to get a ring, nothing less."
You will see plenty of new faces on the court for Glenville. The Pioneers are already 2-1 on the young season.
