Believe it or not, it's getting to be that time of year again, time for another round of graduations.

Senator Joe Manchin was on hand as students from West Virginia Junior College graduated Sunday afternoon at the Bridgeport Conference Center.

Forty students from multiple programs received degrees and took oaths of service as friends and family watched proudly.

Both Manchin and the new graduates said they're happy to have made it through this big step in their lives.

"They fought through a lot of trials and tribulations, a lot of obstacles, and they made it. And I'm just so proud of them. I'm proud of every one of them. They're going to be a great asset to society and to our community," said Manchin.

"It's exciting. I'm a single mom and to graduate from college is really an accomplishment for me, so I'm really excited and proud of myself," said Kayla Cavins, a recent graduate.

Graduates and their families enjoyed a reception at the conference center when the ceremony was over.
