Shops and restaurants in Morgantown's downtown and Wharf District will participate in Small Business Saturday, the annual celebration of local businesses that takes place nationwide the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Main Street Morgantown is promoting the event for Nov. 24.
Many shops and restaurants will conduct their own promotions.
In addition, customers who present receipts totaling $25 or more from any downtown or Wharf District business will be eligible for a drawing to win one of two Apple iPADs. Drawing registration will take place at Arts Monongahela at 201 High Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 24.
Arts Monongahela will feature an Artisan Village and Santa Claus will be present.
This marks the third year for Small Business Saturday. American Express founded the event in 2010 to give small businesses more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year.
WCLG and WesBanco are co-sponsoring the event with Main Street Morgantown.
