An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

Doddridge County High School has received a three-year, $50,000 Innovation Zone Grant, allowing students with similar interests to spend a few hours every month getting real world experience.

The Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library hosted its second annual community baby shower. Several vendors, including WIC, CHOICES, WV Birth to 3, Amy's Attic, MOPS, and United Hospital Center came out to help new and expecting mothers, and even fathers.
Information and resources on anything from breastfeeding to the importance of reading to your baby were available. It's a way to let new parents know there's help close by for all aspects of a child's life.
"They'll get to go around to each table and each table will tell them what they do for the community and what they offer, and hopefully a mother or father will get something out of it," said Erica Perry, with the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library.
Another community baby shower at the library is scheduled for May.
