WVU Community Building Toy Mountain

WVU Student Organizations Services and the Student Government Association are asking the community to sponsor a child for the annual Student Helping Other People, or SHOP, program.

SHOP pairs WVU students with local children between the ages of 6 and 12 to shop for presents. Children and volunteers buy clothes, toys and other items up to $85.

The event will begin at the Mountainlair and bus people to Super K-Mart to buy toys that will be placed in the Mountainlair after the toy buy.

A Toy Mountain will be set up in the Mountainlair starting Tuesday, November 20.

WVU Students who want to volunteer for the event should contact Kristin Kleinschmidt at 304-293-4397 or email mountaineers.shop@gmail.com. You can also download a volunteer sign up form.

WVU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to drop off toys unwrapped toys to the Student Organization Services office in the Mountainlair.

Monetary donations are accepted until December 5 at noon. Make checks payable to WVY S.H.O.P and mail to attention Sue Henry, Student Organizations Service, PO Box 6444, Morgantown, WV 26506.
