We have all heard the saying, "A dog is a man's best friend." You may never know how true that statement is until you meet a dog that comes from the program "Paws 4 People."

The Bi-County Nutrition Center in Nutter Fort is providing emergency meals for senior citizens in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
Deliveries of "Blizzard Boxes" began Tuesday. The boxes were funded with the help of a $1,550 donation from the Bridgeport Rotary Club. Nutrition Center director Wanda Carrico said "Blizzard Boxes" are crucial for home-bound senior citizens during the winter months.
"In this box contains seven different meals for them, and that is in case we're closed for snow or sleet or whatever might be happening in the winter months," said Carrico. "Emergencies like flooding when our drivers can't get out to get to them, so we give these boxes to make sure they have something in their house to eat."
Each "Blizzard Box" costs about $20. If you would like to donate to the Bi-County Nutrition Center call 304-622-4075.
