West Virginia Wesleyan College Wins Humanities Grant

West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon is one of 11 non-profit humanities organizations to receive a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council.

Wesleyan's Master in Fine Arts' Residency Visiting Writer Series has won a $3,500 grant for 2013.

The West Virginia Humanities Council awards major grants twice annually to support humanities educational programming. The Augusta Heritage Center at Davis and Elkins College and the West Virginia University Research Corporations also won grants.

The next major grant deadline is Feb. 1, 2013. Major grants are awarded to projects requesting over $1,500 and up to $25,000. Feb. 1 is also the deadline for the West Virginia Humanities Council fellowship program. Fellowship grants of $2,500 are awarded once annually to humanities faculty or scholars in West Virginia in support of humanities research and writing projects.
