BUCKHANNON -

The Upshur County Commission has certified the results from the November 6 election.

The commission canvassed the voted a few days ago and said turnout for the election was just less than 60 percent.

County administrator Willie Parker said the canvassing process gives counties a chance to look over ballots before finalizing them, and that the window of opportunity for a recount now is over.

"Candidates have a 48 hour window, at least 48 hours to request a recount if they so desire after the results are declared before the election is certified," Parker said.

Parker said none of the candidates on the ballot requested a recount.
