The Bunner Ridge Community Association has been restoring a building that is the heart of its community.

The Bunner Ridge Community Building was destroyed by fire two years ago.

The community has raised more than $250,000 for a new building, but more funding is needed.

The Marion County Commission is helping out by donating $10,000 for a new commercial kitchen.

"Communities don't have the little schools anymore. They have the volunteer fire department and the community building and that's all the community has. It's very important to the small communities to keep their identity and the Commission feels that it is part of our job to keep the identity of the small communities," said Marion County commissioner Butch Tennant.

Tennant said he knows the community won't give up, until the building is finished.
