Clarksburg Mission Serves Thanksgiving Meals

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers at the Clarksburg Mission served more than 100 meals today at their annual Thanksgiving celebration.

They said they received more than 100 turkey donations from the community this year.

The Mission serves meals to anyone in need throughout the year but volunteers said Thanksgiving is always one of the busiest times.

"Our goal every day here is to feed anybody who needs to be fed," said Clarksburg Mission food attendant Geri Scarfpin. "More so today because it's a holiday, a lot of people don't have family in the area. A lot of people, we are their family, so it's very important today that they do feel at home."

The Mission said it is always appreciative of monetary or food donations. To make a contribution, bring items directly to the Clarksburg Mission at 312 North 4th Street in Clarksburg.
