MORGANTOWN -

Wesley United Methodist Church's held its annual free lunch Thursday.

Food preparations began earlier in the week.

The Morgantown church prepared 13 turkeys and four hams. Each year local restaurants and the stores donate a majority of the food and money used.

For the first time, volunteers delivered meals to homes as well. Organizers said it's great to have so many people invested in the project.

"I believe that it's important to have as many people as possible involved in a project, because it gives them ownership and then they care if it succeeds or not," said organizer Karen Kelley King.

Wesley United Methodist Church teamed up with the Salvation Army this year. Together they expected to serve more than 200.
