The city of Weston kicked off the Christmas season Friday night with its annual holiday parade.

Lewis County residents of all ages gathered on Main Avenue to watch the procession.

This year's theme was "A Tropical Christmas."

Santa Claus made an appearance, of course, as well as Commissioner Agnes Queen, veterans, and plenty of performers.

The parade is put on by the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce and has been a tradition in the community for many years. Lewis County native Paula Finster, who now lives in Harrison County, comes back to attend the parade every year with her family.

"It's something I like to share with my grandchildren, let them experience some of the things their father did growing up, in the same town and the same place," Finster said.

Weston will continue its holidays festivities every Saturday in December at the Santa House, where kids can take pictures with Santa and get free treats.
