SHINNSTON -
Shinnston City Council met Monday night in a work session. One of the main items on the agenda was a proposed ordinance that would toughen the law against bath salts.
Council members agreed to put the proposed ordinance on the agenda for its next meeting. Mayor Sammy DeMarco described the benefits of the ordinance.
"The state law is not as direct as this ordinance will be. It defines more of the types of synthetic drugs that are being used today. It gives our police officers a stronger tool to enforce the bath salt ordinances" DeMarco said.
The council will make a decision on the ordinance on Monday, December 10.
