FAIRMONT -

A new form of entertainment has come to Marion County.

"Da Vinci and Dessert" is an art class taught by Denise McGinty.

She brings in an original piece of art that she painted, and then instructs the students on how to create it themselves. At the end of the class, she buys them dessert.

She hosts the classes at restaurants in Marion County but will be holding some in Morgantown as well. She described how flexible the class is.

"It could be a girls night out, you might want to put a twist on a baby shower, I can do personal parties as well. If you have something that you want to have at your own home or the venue of your choice, I can work with you on that. So it's kind of a unique spin on a party," McGinty said.

In smaller venues, the classes have 10 students, but she will go up to 20 in bigger venues. The next class will be Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. The painting that's the inspiration for the next "da Vinci and Dessert" class is called "Snowman and Friend."

If you would like more information about "da Vinci and Dessert," to reserve a spot in the next class, or to see some pictures from the previous class you can visit its website, www.davincianddessert.com.
