The Marion County Humane Society is helping homeless cats and dogs find their forever homes this holiday season.
The Humane Society has kicked off its "Support Our Shelter" campaign.
Staff said it costs thousands of dollars to run the shelter.
That includes veterinary bills, food, toys, blankets, and maintenance.
The Marion County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter and the animals can spend a lot of time there.
"We need to make room for other animals," said Don Downs, of the Marion County Humane Society. "There are so many homeless animals the ones that get to us are lucky. When they get here we like to make sure they are taken care of and get them adopted."
Downs said the Humane Society will hold several fundraisers in the coming months including tables at Walmart, a calendar, and a concert.
