Attorney General-elect Patrick Morrisey will convene the first meeting of the steering committee for his transition team to discuss key issues coming up in the next few months, Morrisey recently announced.

Morrisey is scheduled to take office Jan. 14, 2013, and will be the first Republican Attorney General in West Virginia since 1933.

"We have assembled a strong steering committee of leaders to help ensure that we are ready to serve the citizens of West Virginia on inauguration day," Morrisey said in the release. "The steering committee includes Republicans and Democrats, current and former elected officials, trial lawyers and defense attorneys, business leaders and labor union members, among others. "

Mark A. Carter, a Dinsmore & Shohl LLP partner, and Patrick R. Esposito II, a technology entrepreneur and attorney, will serve as co-chairmen of the transition team.

Other steering committee members are: Julia Chico Abbitt, a member of Jackson Kelly PLLC; Delegate Tim Armstead, R-Kanawha; Benjamin Bailey, a partner at Bailey & Glasser LLP; Sen. Donna Boley, R-Pleasants; Michael Caryl, a partner at Bowles Rice LLP; Bill Cole, member-elect of the West Virginia House of Delegates; Steve Connolly, an assistant Putnam County prosecutor; Stephen Crislip, a member of Jackson Kelly PLLC; Delegate Walter Duke, R-Berkeley; Eric Frankovitch, a partner at Frankovitch, Anetakis, Colantonio & Simon; Tom Graff, a partner at Bowles Rice; Fan Greear, a partner at Kesner, Kesner & Bramble; Stephen Groh, assistant Jefferson County prosecutor;  Roger Horton, president of Citizens for Coal; Rob Hoxton, CEO of HFI Wealth Management; former Secretary of State Betty Ireland; Sen.
