The WVU Children's Hospital has gotten a boost from a grocery store chain.

Kroger has raised $40,000 for the hospital this year with the help of customers, employees, and the Children's Miracle Network.

In addition to selecting WVU Children's Hospital for shoppers to support through a football icons sale and coin boxes at 44 Kroger stores, associates at Kroger sponsored bake sales, car washes, bike rides and concerts to raise money in their communities.

Kroger said this is the third year it has raised money for the Children's Hospital through customer donations and fundraisers organized by its employees.
