Superstorm Sandy hit Animal Friends of Barbour County particularly hard and it hopes to get some help.
The shelter lost power for days and its animals have since developed health problems that are very expensive to cure.
The group is also still trying to repair the roof of a shed that collapsed under the weight of the snow and it's had some help from afar.
"Little Guild of St. Francis in Connecticut came with a huge truck and took 65 dogs and 32 cats and kittens and several litters of puppies, and they're all finding homes in Connecticut," said Judy Braunsberg, of Animal Friends of Barbour County.
