The physical therapy program at West Virginia University is celebrating a milestone.

Wednesday, students, alums and faculty celebrated the 40th anniversary of the first physical therapy graduating class at the Student Health Sciences Building.

Since it's beginning in 1972, more than 900 students have graduated from the program. In May, 31 more students will become physical therapists.

Starting in 2013, 40 students will graduate from each class.
