Last spring the Doddridge County High School softball team had one of the best seasons in the program's history.
Megan Sheets helped the Lady Bulldogs to the regional championship game and she has decided to continue her softball career at the next level.
During the early signing period, Sheets inked her name to a letter of intent to play softball at Glenville State College.
Sheets said the Pioneers are a young team and working on building a program.
Megan said the GSC coach told her that she might pinch hit as a freshman. When she plays the field, it will likely be in the outfield.
Megan still has her senior year at Doddridge County and has high hopes. She wants to lead the team to the state tournament.
Sheets is the first softball player from Doddridge County High School to ever sign a letter of intent to play at the next level.
Megan said she feels like a role model to the other players.
