Students at Saint Mary's Grade School in Clarksburg got a Christmas treat on Thursday.
Author Colleen Driscoll visited the school and read her Christmas story, "Piper the Elf Trains Santa."
She also answered questions and worked with the kids on some of the training activities listed in the book.
Teachers said opportunities like this help their students appreciate reading.
"It's absolutely fantastic because the kids read books all the time, but they never really know what goes behind writing it and putting it all together. To have the activities with it, it's really fun," said teacher Alexa Kolodziej.
