We have all heard the saying, "A dog is a man's best friend." You may never know how true that statement is until you meet a dog that comes from the program "Paws 4 People."

After being closed for five months, the YouthBuild program for Randolph, Tucker and Barbour counties has been reissued federal funding for 2013.
YouthBuild offers GED programs and technical job training in construction for out-of-school youth.
The nationwide program lost funding earlier this year when Congress voted against its support. The director of the YouthBuild center in Elkins said the program was able to regain funding with much local help.
"We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the support we get from the community," said YouthBuild director Gene Ochsendorf. "They depend on us and we depend on them. When you're in YouthBuild you're in a family."
Ochsendorf said local YouthBuild participants have built 30 homes and renovated more than 15 apartments in Randolph, Tucker and Barbour counties since the center opened in 1993.
