This is the season for presents, parades, and extra pounds.

This is the time of year many of us over-indulge before cutting back for the new year.

A fitness program in Bridgeport is urging people to commit to taking care of themselves now.

The 12 Days of Fitness is run by Strong Fitness and Bridgeport City Parks.

"The idea is to take care of yourself during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and to work out 12 days in a row. We're going to be doing a variety of different workouts," said Emily Stapleton of Strong Fitness.

The program will start Monday at the Benedum Civic Center in Bridgeport and costs $80.
