MORGANTOWN -

West Virginia University invited the Morgantown community to the Mountainlair Friday night.

The university's Holiday Community Night brought families out to enjoy entertainment and activities.

It also set out to help out the Students Helping Other People, or SHOP, organization. The group is building a toy mountain in the Mountainlair.

"We're just trying to have a fun event to welcome families and communities into the Mountainlair," said WVU Events Coordinator Gretchen Hoover. "And have some fun activities for the kids, take donations for toy mountain give them a hot chocolate, some cookies. We've got cookie decorating and face painting, it's just meant to be a nice fun night."

SHOP will be collecting toys for the toy mountain and monetary donations during the men's football game. It is also accepting donations through out the week for its toy buy next Saturday.
