BRIDGEPORT -

Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport is helping prove Santa Claus is for everyone with a "Special Santa Visit."

Children with special needs had the chance to pay Santa a visit at the mall Saturday morning in a calmer environment, with softer lighting, and less noise.

Cornerstone Pediatric Center organized the event to give families with children sensitive to sensory stimulation, including lights and loud noises, an opportunity to take a picture with Santa.

"There are a lot of tears because a lot of times, this is the first time that their child has gotten a chance to sit on Santa Claus's lap," said Andrew Citerone, co-founder of Cornerstone Pediatric Center. "So this is the first time they've ever had a family picture with Santa Claus. It's great."

Another "Special Santa Visit" will happen Sunday outside of the Sears at Meadowbrook Mall from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
