Struck Sunday Evening with wind gusts to 100 MPH.
The city of Salem joined in on the holiday fun. Its annual Christmas parade brought residents out to enjoy the weather Saturday.
Liberty High School's marching band led the parade. Churches and Salem city organizations joined in as well. Salem residents said the annual parade ties the community together.
"It really boosts the community atmosphere," said Brad Kelley, Salem resident. "Salem is a small community, but we all stick together."
Kelley also marched in the parade with the Salem United Methodist Church. He said this is his second year participating.
