Every fire department in Marion County responded to the scene of a structure fire on Ranch Road Monday afternoon.
The Winfield Assistant Fire Chief said the fire started in the kitchen of a house.
It has been declared accidental.
Firefighters said homeowners Bill and Tina Linn were at work and their three children were at daycare.
The family dog is reported to have died in the fire.
It took nearly six hours to get the fire under control.
Firefighters said the house is a total loss.
