
A truck fire closes the westbound lanes of Interstate 68 Tuesday in Monongalia County, according to the West Virginia Department of Transportation.
The truck fire occurred at mile marker 10 on I-68 around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Approximately 100 gallons of gasoline spilled on the roadway. DOH crews have been requested to bring sand to the scene, according to the DOT.
As of 4:49 p.m. Tuesday, one lane of the road was open but traffic was still congested, according to MECCA 911.
Meanwhile another tractor trailer flipped over on I-79 south at the I-68 split.
Traffic was backed up there for a couple of miles.
The interstate has reopened, but emergency crews are still on the scene.
