Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., was reelected by the House Democratic Caucus Dec. 5 as the ranking member. Rahall has been a member of the committee his entire 18 terms in Congress.

"I am deeply grateful for the trust that my colleagues have again placed in me to continue to serve as the top Democrat on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee," Rahall said in a news release. "To me, there are few things in Congress as important as the work we do on this committee in supporting job creation, the flow of commerce and linking our communities to each other and the world.

"That work takes on added significance during these turbulent times when good paying American jobs and strong economic growth are so desperately needed."
