A Gilmer County man is bringing natural remedies to a bookshelf near you.

Glenville State employee Bill Church's first book, "Medicinal Plants, Trees, and Shrubs of Appalachia", was recently re-published.

Church said he started to learn more about natural remedies during the Y2K scare.

He said his book is good for other plant experts or novices.

"If you don't know anything about medicinal plants, they can take the book and go through it, learn what each plant is and what its uses are," Church said.

The book covers more than 100 plants, but Church said there are plenty more which may be material for a second book.
