The Upshur County Commission is looking at whether it needs to change procedures for emergency ambulance transport services.
The commission said it is obligated by law to provide these services.
At issue: Who should decide where a patients needs to go.
A patient may express a preference for one hospital over another but county administrator Willie Parker said policy dictates what EMS can and can't do.
"If the county commission has a issue with some of their policies procedures," said Willie Parker, Upshur County administrator. "It may be communications issue why we we're doing certain things, are we being regulated by regional or state authorities that require us to do certain factors, so there will be review of that process.>
Parker said the commission will review the matter further before it takes any action.
