Glenville State College is bringing college-level course work to local high schools.

Students at schools like Braxton County High School can take classes that earn credit both for high school and college.

Principal Dawn Dooley said the courses also acclimate the students to the kind of work they'll do in college.

"It really eases them into college a whole lot better and they're not as scared when they go and no as many trepidations. It's just a win-win situation for Glenville and for Braxton County High School," Dooley said.

Glenville also offers night classes at the high school for adult students working on professional certifications and associate degrees.

Similar programs are available in eight other counties close to Glenville State.
