More than 100 people gathered at the United Hospital Center Thursday night for the Gifts of Light.
Families and friends participated in a candlelit procession, sang songs, and read off the names of their loved ones that have passed away. They donated to the People's Hospice Memorial Garden and received a seasonal light on the memorial tree. Each light represents the life of a loved one.
"People's Hospice here at United Hospital Center also cares about the people that are left behind," said Linda Carte of People's Hospice. "The survivors of those that have been lost. This is one of the ways that we come together and just pause for a moment to remember their loved one, but also provide care and compassion to those that are left here."
The tree is made of 100 percent recyclable material and LED lights.
