West Virginia University held a remembrance ceremony Friday to observe the attack on Pearl Harbor.
West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw spoke during the ceremony along with several others.
The Daughters of the American Revolution presented a wreath laying ceremony and ROTC students rang the bell of the USS West Virginia where 106 sailors were killed during the attack.
"A lot of service member lost their life and everything," said Kimberly Richardson, of the W.Va. National Guard. "We had a lot of people in West Virginia that were in Pearl Harbor in the attacks and World War II, so we just want to honor them and everyone who fought as a result of it."
The mast and bell off the USS West Virginia are displayed at the Oglebay Plaza. The ship was one of eight battleships sunk during the attack.
