Pierpont Community and Technical College is selecting its first-ever mascot and it needs your help.

Pierpont's student government President's Council and preschoolers have come up with three options for the mascot: The Panthers, the Pride, and the Pirates.

But why does Pierpont need a mascot in the first place?

"We're really working hard on our identity and the idea of community for our college. Within our college and within the community itself. A mascot really allows the college to have an informal face," said Dr. Doreen Larson, of Pierpont Community and Technical College.

Pierpont will reveal its new mascot on its inaugural Pierpont Pride Day in January.

To vote for your favorite mascot, visit www.pierpont.edu/mascot.

The voting will end on January 11.
