MORGANTOWN -
More than 250,000 people in West Virginia alone are affected by diabetes.
WBOY partnered with HealthSouth in Morgantown for the Diabetes Wellness and Resources Fair to help bring awareness to the disease.
HealthSouth staff said it was nice for guests and other vendors to talk to each other about the topic.
"We've been able to bring the community into and see everything we have available," said Sylvia Parker from HealthSouth MountainView Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. "This fair was designed for diabetes education, for wellness, and in order to take better care of oneself. Hopefully to be able to avoid diabetes or make it more manageable."
The HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital helped vendors connect with each other and people that wanted to learn more about the disease.
