On Tuesday, the Harrison County Board of Education approved an application for payments for resurfacing the football fields at both Lincoln and Liberty High Schools.

Assistant Superintendent of Operations Anthony Fratto said workers recently installed a new drain and a water supply line for a future sprinkler system for Lincoln's field and resurfaced Liberty's field with dirt and clay.

"It's very important that we maintain them, and we've spoken to principals and athletic directors. Most of them have a contract now with a turf company to maintain their football fields on a year round basis," said Fratto.

Fratto said both fields still have some work left but that they'll be more than ready by spring.
