MORGANTOWN -

The Monongalia County Board of Education met Tuesday night. The board received an update on the Eastwood School construction project.

An architect from Williamson and Shriver presented the board with photos and information regarding the construction.

Superintendent Frank Devono said that after some initial disagreement, it seems that everyone is on the same page now.

"There was some contention, and obviously we had some issues concerning some parents not wanting to leave their community school. But all in all I think everything is real positive right now, everybody is moving forward. The principals of both schools are working well to be able to bring together the harmony that needs to be in the new school," Devono said.

Architect Ted Shriver said he expects construction of the new school to be finished by January 29.
