MORGANTOWN -

Fresh off the Major League Baseball winter meetings the Pittsburgh Pirates were in Morgantown Wednesday.

The team's winter caravan stopped by PNC Bank in the Suncrest Towne Center.

Stars Pedro Alvarez and Neil Walker highlighted the group. They were joined by Pitcher Bryan Morris, new First Base Coach Rick Sofield, and Broadcaster and former Pirate Pitcher Steve Blass.

Alvarez said it's great seeing all the loyal fans.

"It's a lot of fun," said Alvarez. "We definitely flattered every time we see lines like these of people wanting our autograph. To us it's really cool, especially to see the support we get in this part of the country, it's pretty awesome."

There are four caravans on tour around the region.

Thursday, Manager Clint Hurdle, Alex Presley, Josh Harrison, Gaby Sanchez and Broadcaster Tim Neverett will be in Erie, Pa. and Jamestown, N.Y.

A second group including Bench Coach Jeff Banister, Andrew McCutchen, Jared Hughes, Justin Wilson, and Broadcaster Greg Brown will be in Greensburg, Pa., and Wheeling.

Third Base Coach Nick Leyva, Michael McKenry, Starling Marte, Jose Tabata and Broadcaster Bob Walk will be in Ridgway and Dubois, Pa.
